Overview

New Alliance Academy provides educational and ancillary therapeutic services for high school teenagers experiencing acute psychological distress.

It’s really wonderful to have this kind of facility close to home. It allows students to maintain links to their home school, stay in touch with friends, and participate in after-school activities and sports.

District case manager

New Alliance Academy is a high school for teenagers experiencing acute psychological distress.

Families report that the process of identifying the best educational and therapeutic setting for students struggling with emotional illness can be confusing and stressful. In regular settings, families are also burdened by the fragmentation that exists between therapists and educators working at separate facilities.  Scheduling conflicts, as well as inter-system communication difficulties, are common problems. New Alliance Academy seamlessly integrates educational and ancillary therapeutic services in one location including available consultation with expert adolescent psychiatrists for those students who can benefit from medical treatment.

New Alliance Academy serves students in the northern New Jersey metropolitan area, including Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Hudson, Somerset, Union and Essex Counties.

Mission

Our mission is to create a dynamic partnership between parents, students, staff and school districts for the provision of a safe, therapeutic and highly academic environment that addresses the social, emotional and educational needs of students so that they can achieve success in school and in their community.

History

New Alliance Academy was created by a team of educational and psychiatric experts from Sage Day Schools and B. Silver and G. Kaplan, LLC. We began welcoming students in April of 2009.
